Manor House Hotel

The Manor House Hotel is located on the shores of lower Lough Erne in Killadeas, Co. Fermanagh. The privately owned hotel has 81 bedrooms and has a 4 star tourism rating. All rooms are en-suite and the leisure complex has a swimming pool, steam room and sauna.

The Manor House Hotel has used Balcas Energy to fuel their 500kW Binder Boiler, installed by Wood Energy Ltd., since August 2006 and have never looked back. In the past year, from February 2010 to February 2011, 262 tonnes of Balcas Energy wood pellets have been used at The Manor at a cost of £44,000. The equivalent cost for oil would be £77,000 (based on average oil cost of £0.60 per litre) meaning The Manor House Hotel has made savings of £33,000 this year alone.

By switching to wood pellets, as an environmentally friendly fuel, 915 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) have been offset so far. The wood pellets are stored in a containerised unit (16t). The ash needs emptying once per month and is used as fertilizer on the hotel grounds. Located on the shores of Lough Erne, the Manor House is a large hotel which has generated massive benefits from their Balcas Energy deployment.
