Today is Earth Day
Today is Earth Day, which is an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
At Balcas we celebrate the Earth Day especially because our on site operations are powered by green electricity, generated on site thanks to the co-products of our saw-milling activities.
Providing low carbon energy will help our planet Earth to breathe better and improve our future.
In that time we’ve all had cause to pause, witness nature healing itself and remembering that “The Earth is what we all have in common”.
Since Easter the Balcas Energy team have had a busy time ensuring the rest of the UK & Ireland are also provided with low carbon, renewable heat – 20 million kWh’s worth, to be exact!
Providing low carbon energy will help our planet Earth to breathe better and improve our future.
* Kilowatts (kW) and kilowatt hours (kWh) are units used to measure energy. They’re based on watts (W), which measures the rate at which energy is consumed in a period of time.
